So far, so good, but what happens when we see that there are flowers of different shades in the same pot or with the same location in the garden? A priori, this is motivated because each flower bud feels different and absorbs nutrients in a different way. Gathering more information on this topic, we have found some homemade tricks to get or try to make hydrangeas change the color of their flowers:

  • By inserting some iron nails into the root of the hydrangea, you will make the intense blue flowers bloom.
  • Placing ground paprika in the same way as the previous one, the flowers will be pink.
  • If you want to get a white hydrangea, you will have to place more of the ground paprika on the root of the hydrangea.
  • As general advice, you should know that you should not try to radically change a hydrangea color. That is, if the hydrangea is pink, you will hardly get blue flowers and you will only get them to have a yellowish color.

Get a more intense blue

If, on the other hand, you want to avoid the blue color of your hydrangeas, you have to avoid watering them with water with excess lime. There is also a product or vitamin complex on the market that achieves spectacular results in blue hydrangeas as it intensifies their color.
